Living Generously
In the final week of our Devoted series, we look at what it means to live generously as followers of Jesus.
The generosity of the early church can feel surprising—even uncomfortable. People shared freely, opened their homes, and at times sold possessions to meet real needs. This wasn’t forced or guilt-driven generosity. It was the natural result of hearts united in Christ.
True generosity isn’t about money—it’s a symptom of the gospel at work. When people are united with Jesus and with one another, they stop seeing their possessions as their own and begin viewing everything as stewardship for God’s purposes.
Living generously flows from proximity to Jesus, the power of the Spirit, and the grace of God. As the gospel transforms us, generosity becomes contagious—building up the church, meeting needs, and revealing God’s love to the world around us.
When we catch the gospel bug, generosity follows—and lives are changed.
