Sounding Forth 2026 – Church Life
Church is meant to be a family. But just like any family, life together isn't always easy.
We come from different backgrounds, generations, experiences, and perspectives. Sometimes we disagree, misunderstand one another, or struggle to show the love and patience Jesus calls us to demonstrate.
So how do we build a church family that lives in peace and unity?
As we continue Sounding Forth 2026, we explore Paul's instructions to the Thessalonian church about what it means to live together as followers of Jesus.
Paul challenges us to respect and encourage our leaders, gently correct those who need guidance, strengthen the weak, encourage the discouraged, and show patience to everyone.
He also reminds us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, and remain attentive to the Holy Spirit.
These aren't simply good ideas. They're practical ways we can allow God to transform our relationships and strengthen His church.
Following Jesus doesn't mean we'll always agree or get everything right. It means choosing His way over our own, extending grace, pursuing peace, and trusting the Holy Spirit to shape us into a unified family.
Imagine a church where everyone is known, encouraged, supported, and loved. A place where differences don't divide us because we are united by one Lord—Jesus Christ.
That's the kind of church family God is calling us to become.
This week, we're challenged to take one practical step: pray for our church family, its leaders, and the unity of the body of Christ.
What might God do in our community if we committed to praying for one another every day?
