True Vine

May 31, 2026    Pastor Matt Sidley

In the final week of our Bold Statements series, we look at one more powerful declaration from Jesus:

“I am the true vine.”

Throughout the series, we’ve seen Jesus as the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection, and now—the True Vine. In John 15, Jesus shows us where real life, meaning, and fruitfulness are found.

We often look for meaning in family, career, health, friendships, or success. While these can be good gifts, they cannot hold the full weight of our purpose. Jesus teaches that true life comes from abiding in Him.

To abide in Jesus means to remain connected to Him, follow Him, obey Him, and live in His love. As we abide in Him, we bear fruit—fruit that glorifies God and reflects His love to the world.

-This message reminds us:

-Jesus is the source of true life

-Pruning may be painful, but it leads to greater fruit

-We bear fruit by abiding in Christ

-Loving one another is central to following Jesus

When we stay connected to Jesus, our lives bear fruit that points others to God.
